Newport Hotel Senior Housing recently opened (8/2008) as a charming new apartment community in downtown Newport, located at 2 North Second Street. This community is a partially subsidized through Cumberland/Perry Housing Authority. Newport Hotel Senior Housing is designed and financed specifically for senior citizens age 62 or older. The community offers one and two bedroom apartments for independent living. Each apartment is equipped with an electric range, refrigerator, dishwasher. There are two apartments specifically equipped and designed solely for the special needs of a disabled person. Water, sewer, trash removal, heat and electric are included in the rent amount.

The apartments are located on the town square of Newport, PA. Entrance to the building is controlled by key or intercom/telephone access only.On the first floor of the building is a community room for socializing. There is an elevator as well as stairs for access to the upper floors. Laundry facilities are located on the second floor.
